Effect of different levels of broken rice replacement corn in rations for growing pigs

The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of 160 crossbred (LD x LW) barrows and gilts in the growing phase fed rations (0,25,50,75, 100%) of broken rice (BR) in replacement to com. A completely randomized block design with five treatments and four replications and eight animals per experimental unit was used. The daily average feed intake (DAFI), the daily average weight gain (DAGW) and the feed conversion (FC) were evaluated in the period. The levels of broken rice (BR) increased (P<0.05) the average feed intake (DAFI). No significant differences among the treatments for daily average gain weight (DAGW) and feed conversion (FC), were observed.
